1.20 mm pitch SMD right-angle header for tight board layouts
The 1909782-1 is a 2-position, single-row header from TE's High Performance Interconnect (HPI) series, designed for board-to-cable/wire applications. Its 0.047" (1.20 mm) pitch is the tightest in the HPI family, allowing dense routing on the PCB. The surface-mount, right-angle orientation keeps the mated cable parallel to the board, saving z-height in compact enclosures. The shrouded 3-wall design protects the tab contacts during mating, and the friction lock provides a positive retention without a secondary latch — useful in vibration-prone environments like automotive or industrial equipment.
Solder retention and gold flash for reliable termination
The header includes a solder retention feature that helps hold the part in place during reflow, reducing tombstoning or skew on the pad. Contact finish is gold flash on the mating side, which provides adequate corrosion resistance for moderate mating cycles — typical for field-serviceable connections in medical or general-purpose gear. The housing is black liquid crystal polymer (LCP) with glass fill, rated UL94 V-0. The operating temperature range of -25°C to 85°C covers most indoor and automotive cabin environments, but not under-hood extremes.
