What This Cap Is and Where It Goes
The TE Connectivity 1918177-1 is a protective cap for LC ODVA compliant connectors. It shields the ferrule and end-face of a mated or unmated LC connector from dust, debris, and physical damage when the connector is not in use.
This cap is designed for use with LC ODVA compliant connectors — the standard duplex LC interface used in fiber-optic patch panels, transceivers, and bulkhead adapters. It fits over the connector body and protects the polished ceramic ferrule from contamination and scratches. If you are terminating a fiber run that uses standard LC connectors, this cap will seat correctly.
