5-Position 2 mm Vertical Header with Latch Retention
The 1971032-5 is a 5-position, single-row header on 2.00 mm pitch, designed for board-to-wire applications. The vertical through-hole orientation and shrouded 4-wall housing with a latch holder give it a firm mechanical lock against vibration — the latch engages with the mating receptacle's ramp and holds until deliberately released. A board lock on each end anchors the header during wave solder and resists shear forces from cable strain. The natural PA66 housing carries a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, and the operating temperature range of -30°C to 105°C covers most indoor and cabinet environments.
Mating and Termination Fit
The header uses tin-plated square male pins on both the mating and post sides. The contact length on the post side is 0.102" (2.60 mm), which suits standard through-hole PCB thicknesses. Current rating is listed as varying by wire gauge — the limiting factor is the crimp terminal and wire size in the mating receptacle, not the header pin itself. The latch holder fastening type is specific to the Grace Inertia series; the mating receptacle must also carry the latch ramp for the lock to function. The 4-wall shroud protects the pins during handling and guides the receptacle into alignment before the latch engages.
