The 3.50 mm pitch gives enough spacing for 600 V rated applications without forcing an oversized harness footprint — a middle-ground pitch between the compact 2.50 mm D-1000 and the high-current 9.50 mm D-5000 series. This is a bare housing — contacts are ordered separately as a crimp terminal (female socket, not included) and must be inserted after wire termination.
A 3.50 mm header will mate with this plug; a 2.50 mm or 5.08 mm header will not. The 10 positions match a 10-circuit BOM line; if your circuit count differs, the D-1500 series offers the same pitch in 2 through 12 positions. The detent lock provides a tactile snap on mating — it holds the plug and receptacle together under moderate vibration without requiring a secondary locking ramp or screw. For field-service applications, the detent allows tool-less unmating, unlike a latch lock that may need a tool to release.
