Product details

Contact system and termination

The 1986375-8 is an 8-position plug from the TE 1986375 series, using tin-plated phosphor bronze female sockets rated for 11 A at 300 V. Termination is via a rising cage clamp — the screw (M2) pushes a clamp plate down onto the conductor, accepting 14-30 AWG (0.05-2 mm²) solid or stranded wire without a ferrule.

Wire entry and stacking

The housing includes side-stacking features so multiple plugs can be ganged side-by-side on the same header. The 8 positions fill a single level; the 0.150" (3.81mm) pitch gives 0.756" (19.20mm) insulation height — enough clearance for the rising clamp mechanism.
