The 3.96mm pitch and 7.5A per circuit rating suit it for distributing power inside a control cabinet or lighting fixture, where the load per pin stays under that ceiling. The single-wall shrouding guides the mating receptacle but leaves three sides of the pins exposed — fine for panel wiring where the cable is routed in one direction.
The yellow insulation color is a visual cue for the 3-position variant — helps during harness assembly to avoid mis-mating with other positions in the same series.
