Plug Housing for Field-Repairable Harnesses
The TE Connectivity 2-1318117-3 is a 3-position, single-row plug housing from the Dynamic D-2100 series. It accepts male pin crimp contacts (sold separately) and uses a locking ramp for a vibration-resistant mate. The 2.50 mm pitch and polarizing key make it a straightforward drop-in for a harness that needs a compact, field-serviceable power or signal interconnect. Rated for -55°C to 105°C operation, the glass-filled thermoplastic housing holds up in industrial cabinet and under-hood environments. The black colour is standard for the series.
What You Need to Order Separately
This housing ships without contacts — the spec note is clear: Contacts Not Included. You'll need to source the matching Dynamic D-2100 male pin crimp terminals. The crimp termination means you can build or repair the harness on site with a standard crimp tool, which is exactly what you want when a connector in the field has backed-out pins or corrosion at the crimp barrel.
Mating Half and Keying
This plug mates with a Dynamic D-2100 series receptacle housing that accepts female socket contacts. The polarizing key prevents inserting the plug into the wrong receptacle in a multi-connector harness — a real time-saver when you're re-pinning on site and can't see the keyway. The locking ramp engages audibly when fully mated. In a high-vibration environment — think a conveyor drive or a pump skid — that ramp keeps the pair together without needing a secondary latch or screw lock.
