20-Position IDC Plug for Ribbon Cable Harnesses
The red housing provides visual identification on the harness. Termination is via IDC (insulation displacement) — no wire stripping or crimping required. The plug accepts 28 AWG ribbon cable and the tin-plated male pins make contact with the mating header's female spring contacts. The free-hanging (in-line) mounting style suits cable-to-board runs where the connector floats off the PCB.
The IDC termination locks the cable into the plug body — the assembly then mates directly to the board-mounted header. The Feed Through feature means the cable passes through the connector body, simplifying daisy-chain routing in multi-drop harnesses.
