Contact finish is 15.0µin gold over nickel — that thickness handles the wipe distance of a standard DDR4 module insertion without exposing the base metal. For a memory slot that sees a handful of mating cycles over its life (factory test, final assembly, one field swap), this is the right call. Tin flash would fret after a few cycles; gold at this thickness doesn't.
