Three-piece kit: header, housing, terminal
The 2-292161-3: This is the header half of a wire-to-board connection — a 3-position, single-row, vertical through-hole header on 2.00 mm pitch. It mates with a CT series crimp housing (sold separately) that accepts the matching male pin terminal. The three-wall shroud guides the housing into alignment and protects the pins during mating. The detent lock on the header engages with the housing latch to resist vibration-induced separation — useful in general-purpose equipment where the cable sees occasional movement.
Pitch, positions, and plating
At 2.00 mm pitch, this header fits a compact board footprint for three signal or low-power circuits. The tin-plated mating surface and tin-plated post are rated for moderate mating cycles — typical for internal wiring where the connector is mated once during assembly and rarely cycled in the field. Current rating depends on the wire gauge used in the mating terminal — the header itself does not set a fixed ampacity. Voltage ceiling is 125 VAC. The UL94 V-0 nylon housing suits equipment inside an enclosure requiring a flammability rating.
