The 2-332070-2 is a single socket contact from TE's Series 4 family, designed to accept a header pin diameter of 0.037" to 0.040" (0.94mm to 1.02mm). The closed-bottom construction and no-tail design mean it terminates flush with the insulator, intended for solder-in applications where the contact sits fully within the housing.
Sourcing an Obsolete Part
No direct pin-compatible replacement has been officially designated within the Series 4 line. For BOM positions that require this specific contact, independent distribution channels remain the primary sourcing route.
Termination is solder-only, with a socket depth of 0.130" (3.30mm) and an overall length of 0.143" (3.63mm). The mounting hole diameter required on the PCB is 0.072" (1.83mm). The flange diameter of 0.089" (2.26mm) provides a positive stop during insertion. The closed-bottom feature prevents solder wicking up into the contact beam, preserving the spring properties of the beryllium copper.
