4-Position Universal MATE-N-LOK Plug Housing
The TE 2-480702-0 is a 4-position, single-row plug housing from the Universal MATE-N-LOK series, designed for free-hanging in-line wire-to-wire or wire-to-board connections. It accepts male or female crimp contacts — the contacts themselves are ordered separately.
The 4-position count matches a 4-circuit BOM line — one housing per harness branch. The single-row layout keeps the connector narrow, useful for tight cable bundles where a dual-row housing would be too wide. The -55°C to 125°C range means this housing can sit underhood or on an industrial machine near a heat source; the nylon won't soften or crack across that span. The latch lock is the retention mechanism — it clicks into the mating receptacle's locking ramp, so the harness stays mated under moderate vibration without needing a secondary screw or clip.
Contacts and Mating
This is a housing only — contacts are not included. It accepts the Universal MATE-N-LOK crimp terminals in either male or pin form, terminated with a standard crimp tool. The mating half is the corresponding Universal MATE-N-LOK receptacle housing (same series, same position count). The latch lock on the plug engages the receptacle's locking ears; you'll hear the click when fully seated. For a sealed assembly, use the appropriate interface seal from the same series.
