20-Position SL-156 Receptacle Housing for Wire Harness Builds
Crimp-and-Poke: Contacts Are Ordered Separately
This is a housing-only part — the note says it plainly: Contacts Not Included. The housing accepts the standard SL-156 crimp contact (TE part number 1-770849-0 or similar), which terminates 18-24 AWG wire. No soldering, no special tooling beyond a hand crimper.
Locking Ramp and Polarizing Key Keep the Mate Right
Two features make this housing field-friendly. The locking ramp gives an audible click when the housing fully mates with the header — you feel it seat. That's your confirmation the connection is locked, not just pushed together. The polarizing key (a molded rib in the housing wall) means the plug only goes on one way. On a harness with a dozen SL-156 connectors, the keying stops a mis-mate before it happens.
