The housing is free-hanging (in-line) and accepts crimp terminals — you need to order the contacts separately, as they are not included. The 2-87631-9 accepts AMPMODU Mod IV crimp socket contacts (female terminals). The contacts are ordered separately — common TE part numbers for the 20-24 AWG range include the 87631-1 or similar Mod IV socket terminals. The dual-row, 0.100" pitch layout mates with a standard AMPMODU Mod IV header of the same pitch and row count. The detent lock engages with the header's mating ramp; you should hear it click when fully seated.
