Product details

3-position 4.2mm pitch header with locking ramp

The TE Connectivity VAL-U-LOK 2029167-3 is a 3-position, 1-row header with a 4.20mm pitch, designed for board-to-cable/wire applications. It mates with the matching VAL-U-LOK receptacle housing and crimp terminals to form a wire-to-board connection rated 9A per circuit at 600VAC. The 4-wall shroud protects the male pins during handling and guides the mating receptacle into alignment. The locking ramp on the shroud engages with the receptacle latch to resist vibration-induced separation.

Current rating and temperature range

Each contact is rated 9A at 600VAC, with the current limited by the temperature rise of the PA nylon housing. The tin-plated brass contacts (mating and post) are suited for moderate mating-cycle applications; tin plating is cost-effective but wears faster than gold under repeated disconnect/reconnect.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 2029167-3 have a board lock and locking ramp?

Yes, the header includes a board lock for through-hole solder retention and a locking ramp on the 4-wall shroud that engages with the mating receptacle latch.
