SMA jack for RG-174/188/316 — 50 Ohm through 18 GHz
Rated for 50 Ohm systems with a frequency range up to 18 GHz, it handles 335 V and is built for RG-174, RG-188, and RG-316 cable groups. The center contact is gold-plated copper alloy, soldered to the cable center conductor, while the shield is crimped.
Cable compatibility and installation
This SMA jack is built for RG-174 and RG-316 cables — common thin flexible coax used in test equipment, antenna leads, and short RF jumpers. The center pin solders to the conductor; the shield crimps through the included ferrule. The lockwasher and nut secure the connector to the panel from the front side. For field installation, the crimp shield termination is faster and more repeatable than clamp styles, though it requires the correct crimp die for the cable diameter. The gold-plated center contact maintains low and stable contact resistance across the full 500-cycle rated life.
