RF Adapter Overview
The TE Connectivity 2081890-1 is a straight SMA plug-to-plug adapter, a same-series barrel coupler that joins two SMA male connectors end-to-end. The stainless steel body and PTFE dielectric give it the mechanical and electrical stability needed to hold a consistent 50 Ohm line through the transition.
Both centre contacts are male pins machined from beryllium copper with gold plating — a combination that handles repeated matings without galling or losing contact resistance. The 500-cycle mating life is typical for an SMA-grade interface; the gold plating keeps the contact resistance stable through those cycles.
Mating and Installation
Threaded couplings on both ends — standard SMA 1/4-36 UNEF thread — so you hand-tighten and then a quarter-turn with a wrench for the final seat. Free-hanging (in-line) style; no panel mount, no flange. It is a barrel: one SMA male cable on each side, threaded together. The straight body keeps the signal path axial, no right-angle bend to introduce a VSWR bump.
