Hybrid USB micro B Plug — 12 Contacts, Vertical Through-Hole
It is a vertical through-hole mount part, meaning the plug inserts straight into the PCB and is soldered on the opposite side. The 12 contacts and hybrid designation set it apart from a standard 5-pin micro B; the extra pins are typically used for charging pass-through, dedicated ground returns, or sideband signals in embedded or industrial designs. The shell is steel and stainless steel, providing EMI shielding and mechanical retention. Rated USB 2.0, it handles 480 Mbps data rates.
This is a plug — the male half of the USB micro B hybrid interface. It mates with the corresponding receptacle (typically a TE or industry-standard micro B hybrid jack). Termination is solder, through-hole, with the connector body mounted vertically to the PCB. The gold-plated contacts are on the plug side; the receptacle side will also carry gold or selective plating for corrosion resistance over mating cycles. The steel/stainless shell provides the ground path and mechanical latch engagement typical of the micro B form factor.
