The Universal MATE-N-LOK system accepts both male and female crimp contacts, so the same housing can serve as either a plug or a receptacle depending on which terminal you load. The contact termination is crimp, which means no soldering on the assembly line — just strip, crimp, and insert until the terminal locks. For wire gauge and contact part numbers, refer to the TE Universal MATE-N-LOK application tooling drawing; the housing itself accepts the standard contacts for this series.
Mating and Fastening
The latch holder on the plug engages the mating half's locking ramp; the connection is vibration-resistant without requiring a secondary locking clip. The single-row layout keeps the mated assembly narrow, which helps when routing multiple harness branches through a tight conduit or grommet.
