What This Nector M Contact Lock Does
The TE Connectivity 2213226-3 is a Contact Lock and Positioner accessory for the Nector M series of connectors. It is not a connector body or a terminal — it is a secondary retention device that locks crimped contacts into the housing and ensures they are fully seated to the correct depth. The black glass-filled PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) body resists the solvents and handling typical of harness assembly benches. This positioner fits Nector M housings in 5, 6, and 7 position configurations, making it a single SKU that covers a range of connector sizes on the same harness build.
After the crimp terminal is inserted into the Nector M housing, the 2213226-3 lock slides into a matching slot and clicks into place. The glass fill in the PBT keeps the lock rigid at the insertion force required to seat it fully. The lock does not include contacts — it is the retention piece only. The mating contacts are ordered separately per the wire gauge and current requirements of the circuit.
