This is a common sourcing trap: the housing arrives but the line stops because the terminals are not on the BOM.
The sealed housing keeps dust and low-pressure water jets out of the contact interface. The PA66 material is glow wire compliant.
Termination is crimp-style: strip the wire, insert into the female socket terminal, and crimp with the correct die for the wire gauge. A secondary TPA (terminal position assurance) insert is available for the SDL 2.5 series to confirm full terminal seating — use it in high-vibration builds.
