Locking Ramp and TPA — Dual Retention for Vibration Environments
The locking ramp provides the audible click when fully mated with the matching header. The TPA (Terminal Position Lock) is a secondary insert that slides into the housing after the contacts are loaded, locking each crimp terminal in its cavity. In an automotive or industrial cabinet subject to constant vibration, the TPA is what keeps a loose crimp from backing out mid-service — the locking ramp alone holds the connector pair together, but the TPA holds each wire in place.
Panel Mount, Snap-In — No Hardware Needed
This plug snaps into a panel cutout — no mounting screws or brackets required. The snap-in barbs on the housing sides engage the panel thickness and hold the connector rigid during mating and unmating.
