5-position vertical header with friction lock
The 281695-5: This is a 5-position, single-row, vertical through-hole header from the HE13/HE14 series, on 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch. It mates with a corresponding cable-side receptacle — the friction lock holds the pair together under moderate vibration without a secondary latch. The shrouded 2-wall design protects the male pins during handling and guides the mating receptacle into alignment. Tin plating on both the mating surface and the solder tails keeps the cost down for applications that don't need the cycle life of gold.
Mating half and board fit
The header mates with a HE13/HE14 series receptacle housing that accepts the matching crimp terminal. The 0.114" (2.90mm) post length suits standard 1.6mm PCBs; the 0.276" (7.00mm) mating pin length provides enough wipe for a reliable tin-to-tin connection. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 100°C, and the thermoplastic housing is rated UL94 V-0. The blue insulation colour is a visual identifier for the series.
