The housing is splash-proof, making it a fit for engine compartments, agricultural equipment, and other damp-environment harnesses where a standard unsealed connector would risk corrosion or intermittent contact.
The splash-proof feature is a material and design detail: the housing geometry includes integrated seals at the wire entry and mating interface, so the connector can withstand hose-down and rain exposure without needing a separate boot or overmold.
