Current and Contact Duty
The 2842110-6: The gold flash on the mating surface at 3.94 µinch thickness is enough for occasional mating cycles (maybe a few dozen board swaps) but will wear through under frequent reconnection; if your application cycles the connector quarterly, expect the tin underplate to carry the current after the gold is gone. The contact finish on the solder post is tin, 78.7 µinch (2.00 µm) thick — this wets well during wave soldering and provides a reliable joint through the hole.
Unshrouded — No Polarization
In a blind-mate or high-vibration environment, the push-pull fastening relies entirely on the friction of the contact beams; a mis-mated or partially seated connection can occur if the receptacle is not aligned by the assembler.
