2 A per Contact with Gold Flash Mating Surface
The 2842150-7: The mating contact finish is gold at 3.94 µinch (0.100 µm) thickness over a copper alloy base. This is a flash-grade gold layer: it provides corrosion protection during storage and initial mating, but the mating cycle life is limited compared to thicker gold (15 µinch or more). In a low-cycle application (fewer than 50 matings) the flash gold is sufficient; for repeated field-service disconnect, a thicker-plated sibling in the AMPMODU range would be a better fit.
