What this 6-position header locks onto
The 292161-6 is a single-row, 6-position header from TE's CT series, pitched at 2.00 mm. It mates with CT crimp-socket housings for board-to-wire connections. The shrouded 3-wall design protects the male pins during handling and guides the mating housing into alignment, while the detent lock gives a positive click when fully seated — no risk of partial mate in a blind install.
Footprint and termination details
Through-hole mounting with kinked solder tails — the kink provides a press-fit retention in the plated hole before soldering, holding the header in place during wave or hand solder. Post length is 0.126" (3.20 mm) for a standard 1.6 mm PCB. Overall contact length is 0.370" (9.40 mm), with 0.177" (4.50 mm) of that inside the mating housing.
