The 292228-5: Terminated by solder reflow — the SMT pads and right-angle body are designed for automated pick-and-place. Supplied on tape and reel (also available in cut tape), it fits standard feeder systems.
Pitch and Position Contrast with a Through-Hole Sibling
Compared to the 1-292164-1 (CT series, 2.00 mm pitch, 11 positions, through-hole right-angle), the 292228-5 packs 5 positions into a narrower 1.50 mm pitch and uses SMT instead of through-hole. The CT sibling carries a 125 VAC rating versus 50 VAC here, and its box packaging suits hand-assembly rather than reel-fed lines. For a 5-position signal connection on a dense board, the 292228-5 saves board area and avoids through-hole routing conflicts.
