30-Position FPC with ZIF Slide Lock
The 3-1734839-0: This is a 30-position, 0.50 mm pitch FPC connector from TE Connectivity's 1734839 series, designed for top-contact FPC termination with a zero-insertion-force slide lock. The slide lock actuation means you don't lever a flip — you slide the actuator forward to clamp the FPC, which gives a positive tactile feel when the contacts are fully engaged.
Height above board is 2.05 mm — low enough for most slim enclosures, but check the actuator clearance if the mating FPC has a stiffener or pull tab.
Contact and Material Choices
Contacts are phosphor bronze with gold flash plating — the flash layer is thin (not measured in microinches), so it resists corrosion for moderate mating cycles but won't match the durability of selective 30 µinch gold. Operating temperature range is -20°C to 85°C — suitable for indoor commercial and industrial environments, but not for extended high-heat or outdoor direct-sun applications.
