Gold finish on the mating contact (15 µinch over nickel) supports repeated mate/unmate cycles without the wear-through that tin contacts show. The post tails are tin-plated (150 µinch) for solderability.

This header mates with MTA-100 receptacle housings (crimp or IDC termination). Through-hole solder termination: the post length is 0.140" (3.56mm), suitable for standard 1.6mm PCBs. The square pin geometry (0.025" square typical for MTA-100) provides good solder joint strength.
