14-18 AWG Through-Board Terminal for the Amp-In Series
The TE Connectivity 3-770060-1 is a through-board terminal from the Amp-In series, designed for wire-to-board termination where the wire is pressed through a plated hole in the PCB. The tin-plated phosphor bronze contact provides good conductivity and corrosion resistance for moderate environmental duty, while the through-board design eliminates the need for a separate crimp housing in some board-edge layouts.
What the 0.125" Hole Diameter and 14-18 AWG Range Mean for Your Board
The 0.125" (3.18 mm) hole diameter is the PCB drill size required for this terminal's through-board installation. If your board uses a different plated-through hole size, this terminal will not seat correctly. The 14-18 AWG wire range covers common power and signal gauges for motor leads, solenoid connections, and transformer taps. The insulation diameter range of 0.090" to 0.150" (2.29 mm to 3.81 mm) tells you the max wire insulation thickness this terminal can accept — a 14 AWG wire with thick wall insulation may not fit if the OD exceeds 0.150".
Tin Contact Finish — When It Works and When It Doesn't
Tin is cost-effective and works well in dry circuits or low-voltage signal paths, but it can frett in high-vibration environments or when mated with gold-plated contacts.
