30-Position Single-Row Right-Angle Header — Footprint and Fit
Confirm the mating receptacle has exactly 30 cavities; a 26- or 34-position housing won't align. This saves vertical clearance inside the enclosure but requires a slot in the panel wall for the cable bundle.
Gold Mating Surface and 5 A Current Ceiling
That is a flash gold — enough to prevent oxidation on the mating interface during shelf storage and initial mating, but not enough for hundreds of mating cycles. In a low-current signal path (below 1 A), this gold layer prevents the fretting corrosion that tin contacts would develop under vibration. The per-contact current rating is 5 A. In a 30-position header carrying current through every pin simultaneously, the bundle derating applies — expect the usable per-contact current to drop to roughly 2–3 A depending on ambient temperature and airflow.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
In a vibration-prone environment, the mating receptacle should have a friction lock or a secondary retention feature to prevent the connector from walking off the pins. The contact mating length is 0.264" (6.70 mm) — this is the pin length that enters the receptacle contact. The contact material is brass with a square pin shape, which is the standard 0.025" square post found across the Mod II series.
