It breaks away to shorter lengths — the 36-position strip can be snapped into smaller sections for board-to-board or cable interconnect where you need exactly the pin count the design calls for, without ordering a custom part. The through-hole solder termination means it's hand-solderable and rework-friendly — no special reflow profile needed.
Current, temperature, and flame rating — what the numbers mean for your board
The housing material is polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) rated UL94 V-0 — it self-extinguishes within 10 seconds of a flame source.
The unshrouded design gives you access to the pins from the side, which is useful for probing or for stacking multiple boards with standoffs. Termination is through-hole solder. That 3.20mm tail length works with standard 1.6mm PCBs — it extends about 1.6mm past the board bottom, enough for a good solder fillet.
Sourcing and lifecycle — active part, no end-of-life watch
The part is packaged in bulk (tube or bag), not tape-and-reel, so it's suited for hand-load or low-volume assembly rather than automated pick-and-place.
