MCP 6.3 Receptacle Housing, 2-Position, 8.00 mm Pitch
The 8.00 mm pitch provides generous spacing for heavy-gauge crimp terminals — typical in automotive battery distribution, industrial power supplies, and high-current harness assemblies where the contact needs room to breathe.
Latch Holder Retention and Vibration Duty
This is not a friction-fit or detent; it's a mechanical lock that resists un-mating under vibration, cable tug, or thermal cycling.
This housing accepts crimp female sockets — the contacts are ordered separately (not included). The 8.00 mm pitch accommodates the MCP 6.3 mm terminal family, which handles wire sizes from roughly 14 AWG down to 20 AWG depending on the specific contact part number. The crimp termination gives a gas-tight connection when properly tooled, and the housing's internal geometry aligns the contact with the mating header's blade. The latch holder also serves as a terminal position assurance (TPA) feature — it prevents the contact from backing out once the latch is closed.
