Contact system and ratings
The 4-2232046-4 is the 4-circuit member of TE's 2232046 shrouded header line, a board-to-cable/wire interconnect with silver-plated tab contacts on both the mating and post sides. Rated 20 A per circuit at 250 VAC, the silver plating supports moderate mating-cycle duty without the fretting corrosion risk of tin at elevated temperature.
Housing and board retention
The 4-wall shrouded housing with latch holder fastening provides polarization and a positive lock — the latch engages audibly, reducing the chance of a partial mate under vibration. A board guide on the housing aligns the header during through-hole solder assembly, and the UL94 V-0 polyamide insulation and glow wire compliance meet appliance-level flame and heat requirements.
