Press-fit and solder termination: process flexibility for the line
The press-fit tail eliminates the solder joint, which removes a failure mode in high-vibration environments and simplifies rework — a press-fit pin can be extracted and replaced without desoldering. The solder option, on the other hand, is compatible with standard through-hole assembly lines and allows visual inspection of the joint. The natural color aids visual inspection of seating depth during assembly.
