What this 4-position HPI housing is for
This is a wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnect; you'll pair it with the matching HPI header or plug housing.
Pitch and row config — footprint check
Single row, 4 positions on a 0.079" (2.00 mm) pitch. That pitch is tight enough for a compact harness but still leaves room for individual wire sealing or secondary locking if the application calls for it. The single-row layout means the mating header will be one row deep — confirm the BOM's position count matches exactly, because a 4-circuit housing won't accept a 6-circuit header.
Crimp termination — strip, crimp, insert. The female socket contacts (not included) are inserted into the housing from the rear. Free-hanging mount means no board footprint to worry about; the housing floats in the harness and mates with the panel- or board-mounted header half. The natural colour is typical for unsealed interior-grade housings.
