6-Position 2.54mm Shrouded Header with Latch
The 5-103639-5 is a 6-position single-row header from TE Connectivity's AMPMODU MTE series, designed for board-to-board or cable connections. It uses a 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch, making it compatible with standard prototyping grids and many IDC ribbon cable assemblies. The header is fully shrouded on all four walls, protecting the male pins from damage during handling and mating. A latch holder on the housing provides positive retention against vibration—a practical feature for automotive or industrial harnesses where the connector must stay mated under shock. Rated at 3A per contact, this is a signal-level interconnect, not a power delivery part. The tin-on-tin contact finish (100.0µin on both mating and post sides) is cost-effective for moderate mating cycle counts—expect several dozen cycles before wear becomes noticeable.
Through-Hole Mount, Wide Temperature Range
Through-hole mounting (0.130" post length) gives strong mechanical anchoring to the PCB and is easier to hand-solder or rework than SMT. The insulation height of 0.535" (13.60mm) provides clearance for routing traces under the connector body. Operating temperature spans -65°C to 105°C, covering most automotive underhood and outdoor telecom enclosures. The thermoplastic housing carries a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, required for equipment installed inside an enclosure.
