Wire Gauge and Termination — What Fits
This IDC receptacle accepts 26 to 30 AWG discrete wire. The IDC slot is sized for that range — use a wire outside it and the insulation won't displace cleanly, or the conductor won't be captured. The cable termination is IDC, meaning the wire is pushed into a slot that cuts through the insulation and contacts the conductor. It's a free-hanging (in-line) mount, so it sits in the harness, not on a board.
