The 1.27mm pitch and row spacing define a dense footprint — the 50 circuits occupy a board area roughly 1.27mm × 25.4mm per row, so the routing channel between pads is tight. Mated stack height is 9.91mm, set by the 0.120" (3.05mm) mating pin length and the receptacle height.

Board lock anchors the SMT header
The board lock feature provides mechanical retention to the PCB during reflow soldering and in the mated assembly. In a board-to-board stack with a 9.91mm mated height, the lock helps keep the header from lifting off the board under the shear force from the mating receptacle.
