Compared to the 4-position, shrouded, right-angle header 1-1871673-2 (0.098" pitch, tin mating finish, board lock), this 5-146281-3 is a simpler unshrouded vertical header with gold contacts and a lower pin count. The gold finish gives better corrosion resistance and cycle life than the tin-on-tin interface of the 1-1871673-2, but the 1-1871673-2 offers a locking detent and board lock for vibration-prone environments. Against the 1376779-2 (also 3 A, gold mating finish but only 8 µinch gold), this part has a thicker 30 µinch gold layer, which translates to higher mating cycle endurance. The 1394090-1 is a 6-position, right-angle, shrouded header with tin contacts and a latch holder — a different form factor for cable-to-board applications where retention is critical.
