Unshrouded Pins and SMT Footprint
The unshrouded design exposes the full 0.230" (5.84mm) mating pin length, which gives you flexibility to mate with a variety of socket strips or receptacles, but leaves the pins vulnerable to bending if the mating connector is misaligned. In a fixed board-to-board stack with alignment posts, this is less of a concern. The insulation height is 0.090" (2.29mm), which keeps the profile low on the board.
