The tin-plated mating finish is appropriate for moderate mating-cycle duty in controlled environments.
At 2.50 mm pitch, this header gives more room per contact than the 2.00 mm pitch of the CT series peer 1-292164-1 — useful when routing wider traces or when the per-contact current demand is higher. The 5-position count is a common BOM line for low-pin-count power or signal interfaces. Compared to the 6-position 1394090-1 at 2.85 mm pitch, the 5-1971800-1 offers a slightly denser footprint while retaining the same latch-holder fastening style. The 5-position count is often specified where a 6-position header would leave an unused circuit.
