60-Position Right-Angle Receptacle for Dense Board Stacks
Board locks on the mounting ears anchor the part during solder and resist shear from the mating half in high-vibration assemblies.
Board Lock Anchoring and Right-Angle Routing
The board lock feature is a pair of retention posts that press into plated through-holes and hold the receptacle in place during wave solder. Without them, the right-angle orientation would let the connector tilt under the weight of the mating cable or during handling before the solder solidifies. The through-hole mounting also gives a stronger mechanical bond than an SMT footprint would for a 60-position part — the solder joints carry the signal current, not the shear load. The right-angle body keeps the mated cable run flat against the board, which saves z-height in a closed enclosure.
