Termination and assembly options
Press-fit and solder termination are both listed — the press-fit option suits backplane or high-reliability assemblies where a solderless, rework-friendly connection is preferred. Through-hole mounting with a 0.125" (3.18 mm) post length gives a solid mechanical anchor on the board, and the 4-wall shrouding protects the male pins during handling and mating.
Against the 4-1775099-7 (ATX series, 20 positions, 4.20 mm pitch, tin mating finish), the 5-794632-2 offers a tighter pitch and two more circuits, plus gold mating contacts for higher cycle life.
