Board footprint and position count
The 5102156-8: That sets the PCB land pattern: 34 through-hole solder tails in two rows, each pin 0.155" long. The mating half is a 34-position AMP-Latch receptacle with the same pitch. All positions are loaded, so the BOM line is a straight 1:1 match to the receptacle contact count.
Contact finish and mating cycle life
The mating surface carries 30 µinch gold or gold-palladium over nickel — a plating grade that handles repeated insertions without exposing the base metal. In a field-service harness that gets cycled a few times a year, that finish supports decades of service at the contact interface. The post (solder tail) is tin-plated at 100 µinch, which is standard for wave-solder wetting on a through-hole board.
Shrouding and keying for assembly
A keying slot in the housing aligns with the matching receptacle — it prevents a reversed or wrong-series plug from seating. Mounting flanges on each end let you bolt the header to the board or panel for extra retention in high-vibration environments.
