The 5102162-8: The 0.240" (6.10 mm) mating pin length engages fully with standard AMP-Latch receptacles, and the 0.155" (3.94 mm) post length suits through-hole soldering on boards up to about 1/16" thick. The 0.315" (8.00 mm) insulation height leaves room for the receptacle latch above the board surface.
Current and Contact Performance
Brass contacts with square cross-section provide consistent insertion force and retention in the receptacle.
Shrouding and Keying for Harness Assembly
The keying slot prevents incorrect insertion — useful when multiple similar headers sit on the same board. Mounting flanges on each end provide mechanical retention to the PCB beyond the solder joints, taking shear load off the pins when the cable is tugged. Push-pull fastening means no tools needed for mating or unmating.
