Right-angle header for ribbon-cable harnesses
The four-wall shrouding protects the 0.240-inch (6.10 mm) mating pins from bending during handling and guides the mating receptacle into alignment. A keying slot on the header prevents mismating with unkeyed connectors.
Contact finish and mating-cycle life
The mating contacts carry a gold or gold-palladium finish at 15.0 µinch (0.38 µm) thickness — enough for hundreds of mating cycles in field-service or test-fixture applications where the connector is cycled regularly. The solder tails are tin-plated at 100.0 µinch (2.54 µm), which wets well during wave soldering and matches standard through-hole assembly processes. For a harness that sees quarterly reconnects, the 15.0 µinch gold layer supports decades of service without degradation.
