The solder tails are plated with 50 µinch tin-lead, which wets well with standard SAC or leaded solder but means the part is RoHS non-compliant. For RoHS-exempt applications (military, medical, high-rel) this is fine; for commercial EU-bound product, a lead-free tail alternative must be sourced.
Guide pin ears and push-pull fastening
Integral guide pin ears on the housing provide coarse alignment during blind mating — the ears engage before the contacts touch, preventing stubbing or bent pins. The push-pull latch is a friction-only retention; in moderate vibration the connector stays mated, but for high-shock environments a locking header (e.g., with a latch ramp) is a better match.
