Product details

75-Ohm BNC Jack with Right-Angle PCB Termination

This hybrid mount saves space in compact enclosures by routing the signal perpendicular to the board edge.

Impedance and Frequency Range

Rated for 75-Ohm systems up to 2 GHz, this BNC jack covers standard-definition and most high-definition serial digital interfaces (HD-SDI) as well as composite video and baseband data links. The 75-Ohm impedance is critical — using a 50-Ohm BNC in a 75-Ohm path creates a mismatch that increases return loss and jitter. The voltage rating of 500 V is generous for the signal levels typically carried on 75-Ohm video or data lines.

The bulkhead front-side nut secures the connector through a panel cutout; the right-angle through-hole solder tails then mount to the PCB. This arrangement lets the jack sit flush on the panel face while the PCB runs parallel to the panel — useful where depth behind the panel is limited. Shield termination is via solder to the body, ensuring a continuous ground path around the signal contact.

The center contact is beryllium copper with gold plating — the gold supports the 500-cycle mating life, and the beryllium copper provides spring retention in the socket. The bayonet lock (BNC standard) gives a quick quarter-turn mate with positive retention. The housing carries a Board Guide and Isolated feature set, which aids alignment during PCB insertion and prevents accidental shorting to adjacent circuitry.
